Privacy & Safety
Privacy is the product. Here is exactly what XPECT does and does not do.
One-sided choices remain private
If you choose someone and they never choose you, nothing happens. Your choice is never surfaced to anyone.
One-sided choices never trigger notifications
They’re only notified if they choose you too. Identities stay hidden until both people verify.
Reveal requires mutual selection and verification
A reverse match only creates a potential match. Both people must verify control of the Instagram username they claimed before any identity is revealed.
No unsolicited Instagram messages
XPECT never sends DMs to people you selected. Verification messages are only ever sent by you, to the official XPECT account.
Not affiliated with Instagram or Meta
XPECT is an independent product. Instagram usernames are used only as identifiers you provide.
You stay in control
You can remove private choices from your Dashboard. To delete your account and data, email manager@xpectapp.com. We keep only limited records when the law or safe operation requires it.
